The first rail cargo shipment using Iranian wagons was dispatched to Uzbekistan by the RWT.
According to the Public Relations Office of the RWT, following the agreements between the Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the railways of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, cargo transportation to Uzbekistan via Turkmenistan was carried out for the first time using Iranian wagons.
In this regard, the RWT, as the first and leading company in dispatching Iranian wagons to CIS destinations, implemented this initiative in line with the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways aimed at developing regional rail transportation, accelerating cargo movement within the CIS region, and reducing costs for customers and traders. For the first time, the company dispatched 40 high-sided wagons carrying various cargoes to Uzbekistan.
It is hoped that with the continuation of this cooperation, alongside the expansion of regional interactions with CIS countries including Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, we will witness increased cargo tonnage, reduced transportation costs, faster cargo movement, and consequently the growth of the country’s rail transportation industry.
